The aerodynamic design is purposeful in order to allow airflow to pass through the housing and cool the integrated heat sink at the rear - which is mated to the powerful Bi-LED projector. Well worth the nominal cost of this great F150 Platinum LED front grill kit with 3rd Bumper LED. This was installed on a 2021 F150 Limited, worked fine; also bought the headlight harness (big plus on wiring ease). Throughly brought the appearance up several notches on outfitting your truck. A must for LED or for the light enthusiast.
